ATV Trails

 Over 200 miles of trails are maintained by five ATV clubs in Marinette County. Erosion control has been applied to the trails and a new over night camp has been set up in McClintock park. 
Bicycle Trails Bicycle routes are throughout the county on scenic roads and parkways leading to campgrounds, rivers, lakes and waterfalls. Organized bike trips are set up by local bike clubs.
Boating  

Boating is accommodated on our inland lakes, flowage and rivers. Boat access is available using available boat launch sites. Lake Michigan is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the US and can accommodate the largest of pleasure yachts and fishing boats.

Camping  

12 Marinette County parks and some of the 14 village/city parks are set up for hiking, camping, fishing, swimming, have parking, playgrounds. User fee for county parks is $3.00 per car/day. Camping site fees are extra and listed on page.

Canoeing Canoeing is available at all campgrounds, lakes and rivers using the local boat ramp access points and beaches.
Car/Motorcycle

Touring

Travel the many rustic roads and parkways in the county with scenic overlooks, waterfalls, campgrounds and public access to lakes.
Cross Country  Ski Cross country ski trails are in Crivitz, Oconto, Marinette, Gladstone, Cedar River, and Menominee.
Down Hill Skiing Visit the UP for downhill skiing opportunities. Two are located in Iron Mountain MI/Norway approximately 50 miles north and seven more are located in the upper UP of Michigan.
Fishing  

Marinette County contains 62 inland lakes, many rivers, streams and borders the shoreline of Lake Michigan.

 

Golfing Marinette County has 9 golf courses within its boundaries. Seven other courses are within 25 mile range in Town of Stephenson and Menominee Cty.
Hiking Hiking trails are available in all  Marinette Cty. and City parks. Camp sites are available.
Hunting  

Ducks, pheasant, deer, bear, turkey are some of the game available within the county's public lands and private parcels. Marinette County continues to be a very popular area because of the large expanse of public land open to hunting.

Jogging Jogging is a favorite pastime for those wanting to view nature from the forest roads and scenic hi-ways within the county park system.
Kayaking
Menominee River
A boundary river separating Wisconsin and Michigan. The upper stretch offers fast water and difficult rapids. Many rapids and dams must be portaged. Portions of the upper river are extremely dangerous and should only be run by experts in decked boats. The lower river has a slower current with some low-hazard rapids.
Peshtigo River
The upper portion flows through beautiful Nicolet National Forest and has some of the most difficult whitewater in the midwest. The river above Caldron Falls Reservoir (Hwy C) has long and difficult rapids that require a high degree of skill. Water levels should be medium high or above. Below Crivitz, the river slows and widens in sharp contrast to its previous character. Reservoirs on the central river provide lake paddling.
Movies/Plays Movies are available at  Marinette's Pine Tree Mall Cinema and the Mariner Theatre.  University Of Wis-Marinette Theatre on the Bay produces live stage plays and concerts.
Museums Eight Museums exist within Marinette County and adjacent Menominee City for those wishing to view an historical perspectives of the area.
Parks City 14 parks are maintained by villages/cities in Marinette County or the  adjacent City of Menominee, Michigan.
Parks County 12 county parks are maintained and offer some of the most spectacular falls and scenery in Northern Wisconsin.
Rafting Three Rafting companies offer organized funyak and raft trips down the Peshtigo and Menominee Rivers.
RV/Camping

Villages/Cities

Many local park and Marinette County campgrounds supply potable water, sewage disposal, fire pits, showers and electric hookups for RV campers.
Sailing Lake Michigan and the Green Bay offer ports of call to all size sailboats with marinas in all cities that touch its borders. Most inland lakes can accommodate small vessels for less challenging trips.
Skateboarding, Inline Skate, BMX Skateboard ramp area that is designed for the thrill seeker.  BMX, skateboard and inline skating are welcome. The area is known as Marinette Area Recreation Sikatepark (M.A.R.S.) and is located in the Civic Center Park complex.
Snowmobiling

Marinette County offers 10 Snowmobile Clubs that groom and maintain hundreds of miles of interconnecting trails.
Swimming Outdoor pool swimming  is available at the Marinette City recreation center. The county offers swimming in many of the county's 62 lakes, rivers  and Lake Michigan Shoreline. Check out the parks listing for beaches.
Waterfall Tours Marinette County contains the largest amount of water falls in any county of Wisconsin. Visit our link for descriptions of the falls, directions and accessibility.
Water Skiing Waterskiing is allowed on most inland lakes, Lake Michigan, Peshtigo River and High Falls Flowage.
Water Ski Shows Two ski teams offer shows at two separate locations. Lake Noquebay and High Falls Flowage. Family entertainment, snacks & drinks available with donations.
Wind Surfing Wind surfing is accommodated on any of the 62 lakes, Lake Michigan beaches and  the High Falls Flowage.
